About Parentline ACT
Parentline ACT is a not-for-profit organisation offering a free confidential telephone service for vulnerable parents in the ACT experiencing distress and disadvantage.
Parentline ACT is the ACT’s first-stop parenting helpline. We offer free, confidential counselling and support for parents, carers, and guardians — from pregnancy through to raising teenagers.
We’re here when parenting feels overwhelming, confusing, or just plain hard. Our trained counsellors listen without judgement, support without conditions, and guide without pressure. The goal is simple: that every parent leaves feeling clearer, calmer, and more confident.

Why we exist
Parenting stress takes a real toll on family wellbeing. Evidence shows that talking with a trained, empathetic counsellor can reduce distress, improve decision-making, and strengthen parenting skills. That’s why Parentline ACT exists — to make support easy to access, judgement-free, and practical for every family.
